Men’s Counselling Program
The goal of the Men’s Counselling Program is to assist men who have experienced abuse and/or trauma in their lives. The program allows them to understand and recover from its effects.
The abuse may have occurred early in life within their family of origin, or later in life in their adult relationships. Either way, we understand that abuse can have lasting effects that impact day to day functioning.
That is why we are here to help.
The Men’s Counselling Program was previously operated by SOVAS.
If you or someone you know has suffered from abuse or trauma, our Men’s Counselling Program is now accepting referrals.
We accept referrals in two ways:
- You can Self-Refer by calling us
- Another service provide or community agency can refer you to our program
Our staff will assist you in filling out the intake forms and then the counsellor will call you to set up an appointment for counselling.
R.I.S.E – Releasing and Integrating Strong Emotions
The RISE Program works with the Pathways Addiction Resource Centre.
Self-refer to our free 6 week program.
The objective of this program is to assist people who identify as male, who have difficulty dealing with strong emotions, such as anger.
This program also assists those who feel overwhelmed by emotion, who want to release these big feelings.
The program is in a small group setting with experienced facilitators. The facilitators will explore with the participants why these feelings are rising up and how they can use them as positive tools in their lives.
