A hand up, not a hand out

The Community Advocacy program helps to identify and fill gaps in service and refers the people we serve to the correct Access Centre program or to other community agencies. We support the people we serve in navigating complex systems.

The Access Centre connects people in our community with the support, services and resources they need to move their lives forward.

Roxanne’s story
Roxanne came to the Access Centre after fleeing an unsafe situation which left her without stable housing and with no income or support system. With guidance from our team, she accessed financial supports, applied for disability benefits, and connected with mental health counselling.
Roxanne’s determination, combined with the supports in place, allowed her to secure safe, stable housing.
